I haven't written much, mainly because this has been a hard week. Apparently, you can get your baby so tired that it can get overtired, which means they are effectively too tired to go to sleep.
Wow.
So, we've been dealing with that this week, and this weekend we reclaimed some ground in the getting-to-sleep department, but it's in no way clear if that will make it easier to keep Ian topped off with Z's.
On the positive side, today we had a full-on, fully mobile baby adventure. The whole family went to Brookline for our latest
meat pickup, then navigated through the Barnes and Noble with a stroller for the first time. Then Kim fed Ian "on the road" for the first time, and we had lunch (expensive but tasty
falafel) in the car. Heading back we pushed our luck further with a trip to Target, which entailed our first in-car changing (no stained upholstery!). Taking things one step too far, Ian started a minor meltdown while I picked up coffee at Dunkin' Donuts, but once the car was moving again, he calmed down. Successful travel!
In any case, some days it's easy to look at Ian as the enemy -- but overall he's a cute bastard.
I think we'll keep him.
(I think we lost the receipt in any case.)
